The new Medal of Honour game has also been rated 18 for violence. The first game of the series to get above a 15.

Ofcom / Adult PPV

On pay-per-view as everyone here knows it is probably no more explicit than something you`d get on a free FHM DVD except on the off-chance you might see a woman playing with herself. As for encryption cards I think PPV has a lockout system anyway. What a load of nonsense. You could have potentially seen more explicit material on Eurotrash or late night Channel 5 back in the day. To be honest if a consumer pays £9.99 a month to view a UK adult channel they are being ripped off. Also, wouldn`t having hardcore PPV in the UK also create jobs? The typical viewer also isn`t the dirty mac brigade they`re normal with health sex lives or husbands of politicians.

Some old cuts:

KITAMI was classified `18` for video in 1996 with the following cuts -

At 5.5 mins - In sex scene between two men, after establishing LS of man tracing scalpel around partner`s face and chest, remove all CUs of scalpel penetrating chest and drawing blood, resuming on MS of man`s head to camera.

At 15.5 mins - In sex scene when man spreads butter on lover`s chest, remove sight of knife playing around and jabbing other`s genitals.

REAL LIVES - REAL SEX LIVES was classified `18` for video in 1995 with the following cuts -

At 15.5 mins -Remove handling of erect penis by woman, which is not justified by context, and reduce previous sight of erection to a brief shot between slow dissolves, starting to mix away as woman kneels down into frame.

RE: Diesel adverts.

I can`t see what the fuss is about I actually found the adverts quite funny. It will also be good press for Diesel who may have lost out a market share to brands like G Star Raw and even high street ones (Topman etc). I doubt anyone male or female would copy the advert but everyone`s seen drunken women flash a camera the second it`s put in front of them on a TV documentary.

Emigration

Just read the Theresa May article apart from it being a breach of human rights. What could be affecting is it could have a negative effect on international relations. There is already racism in the UK (always has been) directed towards people from EE and Central Asia seem to be the butt of most of it. Anyway with the UK arguably being hated by some of the East due to their involvement in the war on terror if nothing else - I can see it fraying these relations further.

"Whitehouse’s opposition to the pornographic film Inside Linda Lovelace proved amply justified when, years later, it emerged that the actress had been coerced into a form of sex slavery during the making of the film."
I don`t think this was ever proven to be true even though Lovelace wrote it in her biography also she was a serious professional even now there are not many porn stars male or female who can perform true deep throat; what I`m saying is you don`t learn that overnight without practise. The old Lovelace argument has been fuel for feminists for decades now lets turn the page. Also the author who wrote the book Living doll is Natasha not Natalie Walter.

As an occasional poker play and fan of card games in general I would say what cards you get is random but knowing what to do them and when to raise, fold, bluff etc is down to skill. I would say it is mostly skill however, I`m biased. Mind you some people would say the same about fruit machines.

TV standards
After reading the Italian censors wanting to clean up TV. I can`t help but to think people like Linda Pap. would love such as policy. It`s unusual how these bullshit policies are being suggested in other countries as well as ours.

Surely with Ofcom having its funding & power cut supposedly there`s still chance it can still be overturned. As well I think some record companies forget the only way to hear some music is on bootleg. Same as some films; the last time someone saw the film devils (Ken Russell) was either on CH4 or a bootleg DVD or the VHS tapes when will they learn not everyone once to hear what`s in the UK top 40 or pay £70 for an out-of-print CD/vinyl off Amazon.

ID Cards
The people who originally voluntered for the ID card would they have paid for them? Bad news for them (perhaps) good news for other people.

Smoking and other laws
"banning smoking even in some ouside areas and in cars"
Whose to say the current government won`t introduce such a scheme later, I hope common sense will prevail. Although I don`t disagree with the current smoking ban per se I do think it is difficult to enforce and makes some people`s professions harder (e.g. security guards, door staff, shopkeepers, police etc).

Has anyone heard about the display ban on tobacco advertising? meaning that tobacco and sundries (filters, rizlas, lighters) can`t be displayed in a shop - in other words it`s under the counter discourage youth taking up the habit. Does anyone know if this is still proposed?

Also, does anyone know if the digital economy bill has to go ahead due to it being said in a queen`s speech?

"Unfortunately I`m just a lone voice in the pathetic and boring wilderness of celeb rags and suchlike. "

I don`t think you are and with Big Brother ending this year (should be broadcast around summer) it`s clear a lot of people are either bored or sick of it. I`m sure Britain`s got talent receives less viewers than when it first started.

"To be fair neither of them can really sing and neither need to be able to thanks to Autotune *spit* but that`s life. "
The fact that Rihanna is stunningly beautiful helps sell records with out a doubt.

However, I think Dr Linda Papadopolous is a one note pop psychologist. Her books are literally on the level of "men are from mars, Women are from venus". She is simply on some sort of powertrip to prolong a career. She is as much a media-whore as Gaga, Rihanna or any other pop/R&B star. She also uses her looks to sell products and dresses provocatively. She appeals to a daily mail "won`t someone think of the children" readership; she is simply a hypocritical bigot like Harman; punishing men if they are hetrosexual and not in a family unit i.e. the single men who read nuts and have a gawp at the "totty".

Also the whole popstar sex thing is nothing new. Is "Rudeboy is you big enough" any more offensive than "like a virgin, touched for the very first time".

I`ll leave it there.

Foul Play

I think the problem with the swipe card scheme is not only is it a burden on staff who work in busy shops (i.e. it makes serving customers slower; meaning queues get bigger) it also means innocent adults can be prosecutes, what if a child steals alcohol (from say their parent`s fridge)which has been purchased fairly? Another ludicrous and costly scheme which involves passing the buck.

"Scrapping duty free shopping is utterly irrelevant. The exorbitant prices in most duty free shops I`ve been in means that only the terminally (no pun intended) stupid would be under the illusion that they`re getting a bargain when they pull out their wallet in these establishments."

Also the fact there are sometimes better deals on the high street for both alcohol and fragrances. The fact that Labour raised the tax on both tobacco and alcohol to a level where the black market is worth around 12 billion for tobacco alone is surely telling about the level of tax raises. I digress.

The Star used to support conservatives like The Sun they switched to Labour after the Conserves put John Major up for Prime minister in the election. I think they may be supporting Conservatives again.

Hi Spiderschwein.
Looks like some moral puritan who thinks everything sexual is offensive, "won`t anyone think of children" morality (or moran-ity?) which stops adults enjoying life; ala Linda Pap-smear campaign (Papdopalus). Don`t know much about him/her but I hope someone posts that cunts details all over the internet. Where was the link found?

"A new organisation - http://www.endprostitutionnow.org/ - has emerged and is campaigning to end
Prostitution."
Hasn`t happened in 2000+ years, I can`t see it happening anytime soon.

Some comments on what the pdf contains:
"Punternet is aiding and abetting the trafficking of young girls and forcing them into prostitution against their will."
Sounds like bullshit to me; when will these stupid cunts learn most if not all girls are independent where`s the fucking evidence.

"Another escort, who goes by the name of Dollymopp and entertains clients at a luxury flat in the Borough area of London, wrote on one of the Punter Net forums: Just back from a[ shopping] trip?logged in to mail, was wondering why I had so many hits, requests to meet up, and definitely more than my usual. Fabulous. Thanks HH!"

A fun loving escort with both sides of the brain working don`t sound like a trafficked girl to me.

Punternet is basically a social networking site; it`s not so different from the likes of myspace or Facebook.

Re: Good Old Naughty Days
In additional to what has already been said. The distributor in the UK was Metro Tartan (i.e. Tartan Video). Tartan was bought out by Pallisades company in 2007 I think; so possibly why a video wasn`t released sooner in the UK (i.e. 2003) could be due to partly to financial reasons of the company. Tartan are also not to good at getting their R18 videos into sex shops, for example did anyone see uncut version of The Pornograper (Pornographe) in a sex shop? If R18s could be sold in high street retails like Fopp, HMV, Waterstones etc they might have released it back in 03.

RE: Smoking in films

Can`t remember but I think I read a survey that something like 33% of Britons smoke regularly; it`s definitely gone down in say the last 30 years. The ridiculous price of cigarettes puts more people off than any glamorization in films. Plus, as we all know Sherlock Holmes wouldn`t be the same without that trademark pipe or Humphrey Bogart smoking in Casablanca. Also, a lot of old Disney/Warner cartoons have cigs censored, so the mood`s changed since their time as publication.

PCSOs do seem to be concerned with catching petty and I mean petty crims. I mean imagine getting fined for swearing. I swore at a guy in a Land Rover or some other 4x4 because he nearly ran me over, so what; freedom of speech and all that. Yes, some people may find swearing offensive but I find bigotry, labeling all males womanizing sex fiends and repressing freedom more offensive. It makes you wonder what the police in genera are concerned about or told to care about; petty offensive such as a man/woman taking a pint outside a pub into the street or the murders, burglaries and kidnappings which take place on a semi-regular basis. I wonder what George Orwell would say if he were alive.

"Maybe he is just another `artist` with his head up his own backside, now, why can`t `porn` be `self expression`?"
I think a porn film such as The Devil In Miss Jones is artistic, even more so than some pretentious twaddle that gets classed as an art-film. Just because a film is difficult, don`t make art. Obviously some horror such Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Romero`s Dead Trilogy and The Thing are all classics up there with Your Citizen Kanes. I`d argue that with Colin Wilmhurst.

"Back then, the majority of indie film-makers may have been purveyors of dodgy horror, porn and other bad things."
Anyone know what he meant by other bad things, I don`t.

"So, horror and porn are BAD THINGS, eh? Not as bad, I wager, as your crappy £600 rom-com. There are many reasons to oppose the VRA, but saving you money isn`t really one of them. Piss off."
I agree. But I do think there should be an alternative or at for low-budget films. Also, based on colin`s comments he could have dug his own grave and alot of other filmmakers by almost requesting streaming media carry a BBFC certificate.

Re:sex on television
As mentioned Viv Petty-son seems to be speaking for what I would class as a minority. People like seeing sex and violence on TV. Secret Diaries of a Call Girl is probably ITV2`s biggest programme ever and could be one of the things which helps them financially. I think the Sachs/Ross/Brand thing may have been a factor in moral-purists speaking out: "we don`t like swearing on TV, a survey said 70% feel the same" or whatever they say. Programmes like Sopranos, True Blood and a lot of stand-up comedy wouldn`t be the same without naughty words, plain and simple. But, I digress; the bottom line is I`m sick of people with a moral agenda thinking they are speaking on behalf of the people when they`re just speaking on behalf of a few silly, possibly even juvenile and certainly deluded (un)individuals who think we should all think the same as them.

Another factor is it means Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft whoever need to make a console with the parental controls specifically for the UK market. How many manufacturers will agree to that? Secondly, as you mentioned a "chipped" console of some description could easily bypass it just as it can bypass regional coding. Also what about the "sexist", "violent" or "morally dubious" games that already exist? As mentioned Duke Nukem 3D and Lulu are now quite old games and fit the bill of being adult, yet they were invented before any lockout as such, parental controls which no-one used is the only form of control. Also, what about earlier consoles of current generation consoles (i.e. Wii, 360, PS3) they have no lockout? Also, It`s been widely reported that when the PS1 came out the average age of the gamer was in their 20s; so surely it would punish the vast majority of gamers. Linda Pap clearly isn`t a gamer, just a publicity seeker.

I think you`re absolutely right. I can`t believe people are taking Linda Pap so serious. She isn`t even a leader in her field in any field (i.e. social science, sexuality, child psychology) she is simply a bigot who has a hidden moral agenda i.e. I don`t want my children to see "offensive" images so why should anyone else`s children. Also Linda Pap is an American citizen why didn`t she submit her report to the American government because she`d be laughed out of the white house and the onslaught from the music industry and magazine publications (such as GQ, FHM) would be unbearble for her. Why the fuck is no media company speaking out against this (or maybe I missed it), why has no real expert spoken against it? Is it because they don`t want to appear sexist? I don`t know. I don`t think people should take it lying down because Linda P has thrown a lot of shit and given Mr Brown and his cabinets reputation for believing bullshit; there`s a real chance it could stick.

RE: Sexualisation report
"PSHE already includes teaching about advertising and body image and from 2011 will include issues around violence against women and girls."

What about violence again men? What abut male body image? Some men/boys are just as insecure or conscious of their body image of girls/women.
I think the report is not only biased against men/boys to the point were they are written out completely. Secondly, I think it is offensive to refer to teenagers/adolescents as vulnerable stupid little boys/girls which is the conclusion I came to after reading between the lines.

"When I asked Shakira, the Latin American superstar, how she can square being sexy, wearing skimpy clothes, with her charitable work championing children in the developing world..."
As a sidenote Linda Papadopoulos who wrote the report isn`t adverse to wearing skimpy dresses and using her image to sell products, a bit hypocritical. Also, as mentioned before I can`t believe people in the Government take her report so serious; she is a pop-psychologist using pseudo-science (the word "pornify" for example). She`s not a proper scientist on the level of Richard Dawkins (whose work covers evolution, natural selection, religion etc) or pretty much anyone else within the science field.

My Daughter`s a cocksucker
I think the incest theme is what caused the banning as well, but as it is a "cocksucking" video, I wonder if forcible gagging, hair pulling etc also lead to the banning.

Re: Sexualization report
Another thing to note is Linda Papadopoulos is American; as is widely know Religion (Christianity) is more prevalent so I wonder if she is trying to force some (hidden) Christian morality on people, I`m probably speculating a bit. Also, she is indeed married with a daughter; I believe in the separation of church and state but what about the separation of family life and state? Talk about a hidden agenda. She seems to feel kids are hopeless and vulnerable and need protecting from all outside incidents, although this maybe true in some scenarios children are incredibly perceptive and understand sexuality earlier than people think. I think most adolescents become interested (perhaps subconsciously) in sex at around 11, personally speaking I was around that age when I first masturbated; some teenagers have sex by the age of 13. I think the problem lies in society and by curbing desire they are only going to seek them out e.g. many people have sought out video nasties as they were banned, the same will apply to teenagers getting their hands on "Nuts". Also Papadopoulos might have a PhD but the body of work she has written is pseudo-science along the level of "how to get a man" type books.

@MichaelG (music videos and Daily Mail)
You hit the nail on the head.

RE: Labour Growing Up Obsessed by Sexualisation...

"lads` mags to be confined to newsagents` top shelves and only sold to over-15s"
Won`t that mean they`re place next to stronger magazines featuring full-frontal nudity unless they have two top shelves (obviously not a problem for WH Smith and the likes). It`s also a burden on anyone working there; slows down queues (as they need to show ID), encourages verbal abuse etc.

"jobcentres should be banned from advertising vacancies at escort agencies, lapdancing clubs and massage parlours. "
Technically no-one under 16 should really be in a jobcentre searching for jobs, obviously you sometimes get toddlers or babies in there but that`s not really an issue.

"a ratings system on magazine and advertising photographs showing the extent to which they have been airbrushed or digitally altered."
I think this is just so women can say "she isn`t so pretty now she hasn`t been airbrushed etc". Secondly, does it apply to male photographs as well. There are also legitimate photographers which offer an airbrush service not just to modelling photos but also for portraits and the like.

"games consoles should be sold with parental controls already switched on. Purchasers can choose to unlock the console if they wish to allow access to adult and online content."
I think they mean videogames. I can`t see any manufacturer changing the hardware just to fit in with a petty UK legislation, some might even choose not to sell it to the UK market. Secondly, like cutting films it is a pain in the arse for any adults as it is effectively punishing them to "protect" kids.

Good point. A lot of the problems lie in society. Everytime someone jumps on the moral bandwagon, I think "here we go again". Basically, I`m bored of it and don`t think there`s any need for it.

Also the report was by Linda Pappolopadas (or whatever her surname is). She loves to blame men and has a feminist attitude. I`ve seen her on TV saying how much women enjoy sex, yet on another programme she made out that a prostitute couldn`t enjoy what she did and was exploited. She just comes out with hackneyed cliches but has enough power to get published. Basically not really worth listening to.

"A Sexualised Government"

Another day, another bullshit report. in terms of children being exposed to high levels of sexualised material; dare I say it some "children" i.e. ages 11ish to late teens want to see sexualised material. A lot of 15 year olds buy FHM, Nuts etc. I`m sure younger teens have seeked out hardcore porn. I don`t think it has a harmful effect per se. I don`t think it`s a bad thing to be aware of sex at a younger age, surely it prepares you for the future; I think sex education needs to be taught earlier in school. We need less disinformation from Government lobbys and less moral preaching from religious nutters.

I wonder why the sudden interest from church groups, government etc. I haven`t seen this level of "fuss" since Mortal Kombat was granted a 15. It`s an old debate. Church and lapdancing

Just my 2 cents: I think Shaun hit the nail on the head but what people forget is that the girls earn good money, aren`t hassled by customers and are safe due to good security and work in a clean nice environment isn`t that what everyone wants from a job usually?

"They believe sex is something dirty so that any girl involved in it, is automatically dirty as well."

I actually think they believe sex outside marriage is dirty and acts of lust e..g lap dancing, eyeing up women, watching porn etc is sinful. I`m surprised people (not just religious people) believe chastity is a virtue; when I lost my virginity I was glad to be rid of it. So we have teenagers rushing into marriage as a result.

"Religion is the cause of 99% of the misery on this planet if you disregard starvation and disease."
I would also add land ownership (i.e. many wars have been fought over who owns what) and poverty.

I`m still surprised religious bodies hold so much power still when so many people disbelieve.

Say something controversial and offensive to a vast majority of people and get in the newspapers/TV coverage etc. Although, his loyal supporters or a few from the religious right will jump on the bandwagon and nod their heads in agreement. Part of me says Pat Robertson maybe justifying God`s unecessary evil (i.e. natural disasters) by saying it`s one in the eye for gays, it`s revenge for loose morals etc because as we all know these things don`t just happen due to the world being a natural and occasionally unpredictable ecoscape. The cunt`s reverting the taxes back to the old 17.5% rate next month (which is higher than some countries although some do pay more) but what the fuck are we paying for new laws which make criminals of the average man/woman even possibly child. The internet once a safe haven for free speech now just another manipulated tool (if and when it passes). As we all know the current and past Government (the bliar years) have proven to be as corrupt as some criminals: tax theives, silly expenses claims, cash for peerages, lies, lies and more lies.

"On a seperate issue did anyone see about the TV soap Hollyoakes scrapping a storyline similar to the Jamie Bulger case after the mother of Jamie complained?
Why make an announcment that they were considering showing such a storyline? Is it to show how sensitive they can be?"

I didn`t hear about this and I do like Hollyoaks (a guilty pleasure and all that). I think rather than show how sensitive they are, it`s all publicity especially when ratings are at their highest or competitive over xmas.

Noticed these cuts are missing:

FRUITS OF PASSION was classified `18` for video in 1998 with the following cuts -

At 5.5 mins - After slavemaster stretches whip with cracking sound, cut away to remove sight of woman bound to wheel being whipped with flowers, resuming on woman eating from bowl on floor.

At 8 mins - After O has her body painted, reduce rough sex scene with Sir Stephen by removing her pained protests in CU and cries of "I can`t, I can`t!" as she shakes her head vigorously, suggesting that this is non-consenting sex, resuming on shot looking down their bodies.

At 38 mins - When Sir Stephen watches her have sex with a butcher who approaches her and takes out his limp penis, remove side view of her taking his penis into her mouth by mixing from dark shot of it about to enter mouth to later point when it is wholly concealed inside her mouth as his hooked hand comes down to wipe across dissolve, finishing with tight 2-shot of oral sex with penis concealed and Sir Stephen appearing between them as voyeur.

PEKING OPERA BLUES was classified `18` for theatrical release in 1986 with the following cut -

Reel 5 - In torture sequence, remove all sight of interrogator`s hand rubbing sand and salt water over and into woman`s lacerated back.

My thoughts exactly; a parallel between the Iraq war and a videogame. Also "The study condemned the games for violating laws by letting players kill civilians, torture captives and wantonly destroy homes and buildings.`" Look at the reality, it`s happening in real life. Also, has anyone noticed how some of the biggest games are the most controversial see RE5 and GTA.

To be honest I`m glad Mr Savage is banned from Britain. Don`t get me wrong I believe in freedom of speech (whether it is offensive or not isn`t an issue) but I think it`s better he`s kept out; I can`t imagine he would make much of an impact if he did come over here but why rock the boat? I also noticed Fred Phelps and his wife on the banned list. Also Savage`s real surname is Weiner; Weiner by name, prick by nature.

@Janus 17 RE: Belle de Jour

After reading both Belle de Jours books I do nt think they are a male fantasy more focus was on her relationship with her boyfriend and the sex side of things was her job and something she enjoyed. Guessing the daily mail readers misunderstood it. I was surprised her book didn`t mention the sleazier side i.e. men forcing anal sex, the timewasters who don`t turn up and the men who are a bit too rough. For £300 an hour who can blame her.

"and used the profits to study for a PhD and devote her professional life to scientific research."
Fair play.

"Yet Paul Magnanti is consumed by tears, guilt and grief."
At the end of the day if you "choose" to become a crack addict it`s hardly a surprise her daughter cut ties with her.

A much better and more accurate book on prostitution is Hookers by Julian Davis:

"The Labour MP for Huddersfield complained that Britain is awash with material promoting sexual activity too early in life."

I think these Labour MPs are making up a bit bullshit (in case it wasn`t clear) to keep them with new policies and targets; they might say "we`re working hard spending your money look at the good work we do" doesn`t it just make you fucking sick. There`s poverty on te streets of the UK, a pointless war going on in Iraq and people losing jobs every day. Yet some cunt in a suit has turned round and said you know what`s a greater problem which should be tackled head-on kids simulating sex acts.

As a sidenote: If anything sex education in schools is piss poor and the should be taught something in the upper years of primary school IMHO. Like most people what I learned about sex wasn`t through school it was through reading about it, talking about and on the job so to speak. What`s wrong with these morons.

Evils of Drink, Gangs and Video Games

What a fucking pathetic society we live in. When will these moral guardians, hack journalists and two-bob politicians learn. It`s just scapegoating. Did he really say it`s just like Resident Evil? Admiteddly as mentioned in the article underage teenager shouldn`t have access to age restricted products (previous RE games to Res Evil 5 are 15 rated for those who don`t know).

"He said the boy had not known real, proper parenting and had suffered abuse and neglect from an early age"
There we go. As many articles by serious psychologists will tell you there is a link to abuse to children to cause violent behaviour when they get older.

"You can add to that access to and viewing of inappropriate films and games involving extreme violence. That is his background"

one word: cunt. The judge made a serious point and backtracked using a scapegoat. Why? because it`s far harder to change society and get a good childcare system in place. It`s easier to "slag off" a videogame.

All I have to add is I hope responsible adults do not suffer in having the game or future videogames censored or banned; Can`t see it happening, mind you.

Noticed they`re not burning any of Charlie Manson, De Sade, Aleister Crowley books all are linked to atheism, satanism (in Mansons case) or the occult (Crowley); just bibles from what I can tell.

Also burning country music (Johnny Cash was chrisitian), Soul music (there`s links to soul through gospel & christianity) basically anything which isn`t classical, gospel or traditional christian music. What do they hope to achieve? Just aload of like-minded (some would say narrow-minded) American Christians preaching about something they know nothing of as it`s out their circle (e.g. pop music, non-religious texts). At least it takes place in America, eh?

re: female ejaculation

As another point as far as I know it is impossible or virtually impossible for a man to piss with a full erection because the piss tubes closed and the sperm tubes open. Women may not be able to piss while fully aroused (I`m not 100% sure)and certainly not during sex; they piss afterwards like men.

As another point: a golden shower was allowed in the gay drama: Taxi Zum Klo at 18. I can`t see why watersports film shouldn`t be allowed at R18.

Very good point I think male prostitutes are more vulnerable than females in some cases; mainly due to homophobia.

The other point with regards Harriet Harm-man is that she has failed to mention that most prostitutes ae independent, work for no-one but themselves no pimps, no minders, it`s their own choice. The other point which surprised is the archaic, inflammatory language: "pimps", "women for sale" "exploitation" etc; all bollocks. Also to refer to some prostitutes (~if not all in Hateman`s case) as women with drug, alcohol problems is surely degrading to the women involved and also a cliche which is largely untrue: surely no self respecting man would pay his money to sleep with an intravenous drug user and the prostitute in question would recieve few if any bookings. Also what about lesbian or Bi female prostitutes which sleep mainly women; no she just blames the men because only men use women for sex of course! Thanks for reading.

Naruto was passed recently the first in 2005(?) I think. Fist of the North Star was released at a time when the BBFC were against all martial arts weaponery (and some moves i.e. neck chops, headbutts, ear claps etc) so would cut any films which featured them. It would sail through uncut today.

Some very valid points. Did you see the programme The Sex Educatio show vs Pornography; some of it I`m sure was educational and useful a lot of it seemed to be anti-porn. She showed a picture of child looking at a porn mag and said you wouldn`t let a kid in a sex shop why let them view it online, obviously there`s a point to be made about parental supervision but why punish adults who want to view porn. Also, surely it is quite healthy for teens to have an interest in sex; shows developement.

I have been put off buying R18 DVDs because I`m convinced a large percentage are cut at a guess around 60% at least. Economy suffers as a result.

On a slightly related topic an old cut to a hentai-esque video:

REI REI was classified `18` for video in 1996 with the following cut -

At 42 mins - After woman`s legs are held by tentacles, remove sight of (1) tentacle mauling her breast, (2) tentacle ripping over blouse and exposing breasts, and (3)tentacle penetrating her.

I first heard about Jacqui`s second home on a dispatches programme; she`s not the only MP to have one which isn`t used (often). I`ve always thought MP and cabinet members should publish a widely available list declaring every penny of tax payers money they spend and on what. If you buy something in a shop you can request a receipt (if they have them) and see where your money is going. It`s one rule for them, another for the rest of us. There`s a credit crunch going on for fuck`s sake.

"My favourite Columnist Andrew Alexander in the "Mail" today says New Labour have created the equivalent of one new imprisonable offense every 4 days-can this be right?"

I don`t think it`s as regular as every 4 days but they do seem to think of a new law or a way of basically conning people out of money (usually in taxes, or a toll bridge, fines etc). I think one of Gordon Broon`s biggest mistakes was not keeping the old cabinet (i don`t think they wanted to work for him though). Sure, Jack "Boots" Straw was bad but Jacqui "Man Hater" Smith is much worse. The ID cards, internet ratings and even the DPA have all been deemed by many people (experts in the respective fields as well as Joe Public) as unworkable, no surprises there then. I think Dave Cameron has the election pretty much sewn up, i think in the last poll prediction I saw he was ahead by 10% or so. The danger is he could possibly be worse if elected; one thing I don`t trust about Dave is his "breeding" sure, Tony Blair was posh but he wasn`t a member of the Bullingdon Club & if you believe the spin Bliar was an everyman. In short Cameron may favour the upper classes. But I regard Brown as being the worst prime minister since Thatcher (Thatcher is possibly the worst ever); so no matter how bad Cameron could be, he can`t possibly be any worse, can he?

Smoking display ban and nanny state in general.

Slightly off topic but I`m sure you`ve heard the news of the Government wanting to ban tobacco products from being displayed in shops. The idea is to discourage children from smoking. I think this is interesting for two reasons: 1)why are the government so opposed to a product which they must be creaming billions off in tax?
2)it`s a blanket to cover up actual issues people have a serious passion for and could actually be of benefit if some effort was put into solving them (i.e. the "war" in the middle-east, unemployment, Government spending).
Do they actually think it will work? Children can still see people smoking when they walk into the high street of any town/city/village centre. Imagine if porn was banned (Jacqui Spliff would probably approve); it wouldn`t stop teenage pregnancy though.

I don`t think they should get the sack. In most (if not all) cases I`m sure it doesn`t stop them doing their job. I.e.
